Why synthetic grass is better than natural turf for roofs.
Rooftop Greenery
Green rooftops are making an impact in cities all around the world. Green rooftops supply shade, remove heat from the air, and decrease the roof surface and the air temperatures surrounding it. These types of rooftops are a perfect way to add to square footage and improve mental health by adding a green outdoor escape in the concrete jungle. By choosing synthetic, you can expand the possibilities for implementing a creative space in an otherwise drab spot.
Benefits of Artificial Turf Rooftops
There are several advantages to installing artificial turf on a rooftop. Here are a few of our favorite reasons:
Easy to Clean
Synthetic grass is extremely easy to keep clean and well-preserved.
Light
In comparison to traditional grass, there is no risk of safety issues or hazards, such as root and water damage.
Provides Insulation
Protects interiors of buildings against extreme heat and could provide resistance to mold, mildew, or decomposition.
Less Maintenance
Synthetic turf if installed properly, will last for a very long time and require minimal maintenance.
Adds Value
Delivers a quick getaway while remaining in the concrete jungle.
Safe Space for Kids & Pets
With artificial grass, your children and pets won’t be exposed to toxic weedkillers, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Create A Unique Look
Artificial turf makes it convenient to install turf where organic grass won’t grow, and you have the ability to create unusual figures, or even place them on walls if you want to.
Which Fiber Type Should You Use?
There’s a lot to think about when selecting artificial turf, not to mention what would be look good on a rooftop. Here are some important factors to keep in mind when purchasing:
Nylon is a durable fabric, but outdoor areas are vulnerable to expansion/contraction and will probably fade.
For indoor areas, we recommend nylon or cases with high commercial wear or non-fill areas. All non-infill nylon Shaw products observe strict flammability testing to satisfy building codes.
We recommend using an infill PE tape product on a business rooftop.
PE tape is durable without compromising performance; high grade PE resins are fade-resistant and not vulnerable to expansion and contraction. Our Play-Safe collection delivers premium performance for this application.
