Southwest Greens of Connecticut, alongside parent company Shaw Industries, announces the implementation of a patented HydroChill™ pre-coated infill. The new pre-coated product increases the success of HydroChill™ Home, an ingenious cooling system launched in October 2013. Made to combat the heat on synthetic lawn and landscape surfaces, HydroChill is the first heat reduction innovation of its kind and one of the lone solutions in the business to lead to significant and sustained temperature differences.
Although results will depend on geographic location and local weather such as humidity, wind fluctuations and cloud cover, HydroChill Home has accomplished 30°F to 50°F lower surface temperatures compared to a regular artificial lawn surface when measured by an infrared thermometer. The technology is applied to a synthetic lawn and, when covered by water, removes heat from the turf system leaving a cooler, more comfortable surface. The cooling effect of HydroChill Home after rainfall or watering can last days depending on local conditions and is most significant when surface temperatures are hottest. HydroChill is most effective when the sun is closest to the earth’s surface producing temperature differences of 50 degrees in real world, third party validated outdoor tests.

The new HydroChill formulation is a natural succession of our cooling technology innovation. It shows our dedication to continue to forward our products to meet and exceed customer needs. Modern HydroChill projects have been implemented both at the Waldorf-Astoria and a Property Brothers HGTV episode aired in 2014.
